Caterpillars Montessori was established in 1996 and currently has two school locations:
Hartley Wintney
Hartley Wintney is based in the heart of a beautiful Hampshire village. The Caterpillars Montessori Nursery School is in the Appleton Hall which is just off the A30.
Four Marks
The Four Marks school is set in the village hall of Four Marks, just 4 miles south of Alton.
Caterpillars is situated in close proximity to Four Marks Primary School (visit their website).
Key Information:
Both schools benefit from rural locations and we enjoy playing in the fresh air.
We are members of the Preschool Learning Alliance. For further information please visit their website at www.pre-school.org.uk.

High Staff to Child Ratio
We have a high Staff-to-Child ratio and ensure that every child is given individual time with a qualified Montessori teacher during every session.

Child’s Progress
We like to keep our parents up to date with their child’s progress whilst at Caterpillars. The children have a child profile which goes home at the end of every term for parents to write in should they wish to. Each child has an individual development plan written by their key worker at the start of every term and we also hold informal meetings between parents and key workers upon request.

Key Worker
Each child has their own key worker who will spend extra time helping them to settle in to the routine at Caterpillars and to feel safe and secure on separation from their main carer.

Parents
Parents are welcome to visit the nursery schools to meet the staff and see the Montessori method in action. We hold annual open days where staff demonstrate the Montessori apparatus to visitors and the children are able to show their parents around their nursery school.
Parents will be given regular newsletters and all families have a news book for parents and key workers to communicate in.

Admissions
Children can commence at Caterpillars at 2 years 6 months.
We operate an inclusive approach at Caterpillars whereby all families and children are welcome at our nursery schools. We will discuss the individual needs of your child with you when you register your child. You and your child will then be invited for a pre-start visit before your child commences at Caterpillars to familiarise your child with their key worker and nursery surroundings.
